Jad’s University Admissions Strategy

Jad, it was great speaking with you. You have a clear idea of what you're looking for: a law degree in Europe, taught in English, at universities with an international student body and the experience of living in a major European city.

We've put this proposal together around those priorities. It gives you a starting list of universities, a plan for the applications, and a clear picture of how we'll support you throughout the process. You don't need to have a favourite university yet. We'll help you explore the options and work out which one feels right for you.

Your University Strategy

We recommend applying across three groups: the IE University application in Spain, five UK law course choices through UCAS, and four Dutch programme choices through Studielink. Alongside those, we'll prepare you for the Bocconi admissions test, and keep Luiss in reserve as a safety school for next year.

Together, they give you a range of law programmes and university experiences. As we narrow the list, we'll look closely at each programme's location, student life, entry requirements, costs, and opportunities after graduation. We'll also balance more competitive choices with options where your academic profile is a stronger match.

Five UK choices through UCAS

UCAS allows you to apply to up to five course choices in one application. That gives us room to put together a thoughtful mix of qualifying law degrees (LL.B.) across a range of universities.

Universities we could consider include:

  • Durham University
  • Queen Mary University of London

London, Manchester, and Edinburgh are particularly close to your preference for a major city. The others are worth considering for their law programmes, though they offer a different setting. We'll choose the final five with you after reviewing the courses and their entry requirements for a French Baccalaureate applicant.

Four Dutch choices through Studielink

Only a handful of Dutch universities offer a law degree taught entirely in English. Four of them stand out for you:

These four offer law in English and line up neatly with your four Studielink choices. Some of these courses have additional selection steps or limited places, so we'll plan the timeline for each one carefully.

  1. 1Phase 1

    Begin the IE University application

    We'll start here because IE's application is the most involved: it includes an admissions assessment, written responses, and an interview. Getting underway early gives each of these the time they deserve.

    We'll help you prepare for each required step, including the IE admissions test. In parallel, we'll build out your CV and map the requirements and deadlines for every programme, so you always know when each application needs to be ready.

  2. 2Phase 2

    Draft your UCAS Personal Statement

    Alongside the IE application, we'll begin your UCAS Personal Statement — the most important component of your UK application, past your grades. We'll get to know your experiences, interests, and reasons for studying law, then use those to build a statement that shows universities exactly who you are.

    The statement will keep developing as your ideas take shape, ready to be finalised when we complete the UK application.

  3. 3Phase 3

    Complete the UK application

    Next, we'll confirm your five UK course choices and prepare the UCAS application. The personal statement from Phase 2 takes its final shape here, alongside checking the grade and subject requirements for each law course and coordinating the academic information and reference needed from your school.

    The goal is to submit an application that reflects both your strengths and your reasons for choosing these courses.

  4. 4Phase 4

    Apply to the Netherlands

    We'll help you set up Studielink, select your four programmes, and prepare any additional materials they request. We'll also keep track of follow-up steps from each university, since the process can differ by programme — particularly for law courses with limited places.

  5. 5Phase 5

    Prepare for the Bocconi admissions test

    Rather than committing to an application straight away, we'll put the focus on preparing you for the Bocconi admissions test. We'll cover the format of the assessment, build the same strong foundation of application materials, and practise until you have a clear read on how you're performing.

    Once your result is in, we'll review it together and you can decide whether applying to Bocconi's law programme feels worthwhile — no obligation either way.

  6. 6Phase 6

    Hold Luiss as your safety school

    Luiss stays in the plan as your safety: a law degree in Rome where your profile sits comfortably above the entry requirement. We'll submit that application next year, once the rest of your cycle has taken shape.

    Having one secure outcome in reserve means every other choice can be made on what you actually want, rather than what you need.

  7. 7Phase 7

    Compare offers and make your decision

    When decisions arrive, we'll help you compare the options in a practical way: the course, the city, the cost, the student experience, and the opportunities after graduation — including the pathways each law degree opens towards qualifying in different countries.

    Once you've made your choice, we'll support you with the next steps towards enrolment and your move.
